US Military Army Garrison Fort Hood.

The Army Garrison FT Hood provides units, the installation capabilities,services and a quality of life for the Ft Hood soldiers,and their families. Trianing is carried out onthe Ft Hood base to ensure that the soldiers are properly prepared for expeditionary operations in a time of persistent conflicts.

Garrison Intent;

To provide responsive capabilities and services to Soldiers their families and all units with relevant training enablers, logistic support, facilities infrastucture and premier quality of life in order to set conditions for a safe and secure environment that enables Ready Forces to respond in support of combined joint operations.

Fort Hood units are trained and ready to deploy, fight and win wars anywhere in the world like Iraq, Kuwait and other areas of conflict. Then redploy, reintegrate, reset and train while maintaining a premier quality of life for Soldiers and their Families.

Fort Hood Texas;

Officially opened in 1942 as a training site for tank destroyers that were used to counter the German blitzkrieg during the last world war. It was named for for the famous General John Bell Hood, a great leader who gained recognition during the American Civil War, he was the commander of Hood’s Texas Brigade. Fort Hood is the largest active duty armored post in the United States and the only installation capable of supporting two full armored divisions. The rolling terrain is ideal for multifaceted training and testing of military units and individuals for to deal with the current conflicts. The enhanced capabalities of the US Military, allows it to project power throughout the world while still providing a homely atmosphere for the families and friends of all units on the post.

It is situated near Killeen, Texas, 60 mles North of Austin and 50 miles south of Waco.
